How my own Health Journey shaped the way I support others

Why This Work Became Personal

I know how frustrating it can be to follow different protocols, make changes, and still feel like you’re missing part of the picture. My own health journey began long before I ever imagined working in integrative health. From childhood into my teenage years, I dealt with a long list of health concerns, including digestive issues, frequent infections, skin problems, hormonal symptoms, anxiety, and other symptoms that often seemed completely unrelated.

For years, I focused on each issue individually. I followed recommendations, tried different approaches, and did what I thought I was supposed to do, but I still felt like I didn’t fully understand why I was experiencing so many different symptoms. Over time, my health became increasingly difficult to ignore. After experiencing a rare medication reaction that resulted in a seizure and hospitalization, I knew I needed to start looking at my health differently.

That experience became a turning point for me. I began learning more about integrative and functional health and the many factors that can influence how we feel, including nutrition, digestion, stress, sleep, hormones, movement, environment, and lifestyle. For the first time, I started looking at my health more comprehensively instead of treating every symptom as a separate problem.

As I learned more, made changes, and became more involved in my own health, I also became deeply interested in understanding how the body works and why a more individualized approach can matter so much. That interest eventually became something much bigger.

How My Experience Shaped My Work

My personal experience ultimately led me to become a Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Integrative Health Practitioner. What began as a search for answers for myself developed into a genuine passion for helping other people feel more informed and supported in their own health journey.

I know what it feels like to wonder why your body doesn’t feel like itself, and I know how overwhelming it can be when you’re receiving different advice, following different protocols, and still aren’t sure what directions to take next. I also know how meaningful it can be when someone takes the time to listen, look at the full picture, and help you connect pieces that may have previously felt unrelated.

That is the approach I bring to my work today. Rather than focusing on one symptom in isolation, I work with clients to look more broadly at their health, lifestyle, nutrition, routines, stress, sleep movement, goals, and when appropriate, functional lab testing. For there, we can identify areas that may need additional support and create a realistic plan that fits your individual needs and your life.

My Approach

I don’t believe wellness should be built around quick fixes, extreme protocols, or one-size-fits-all plans. Every person has a different history, lifestyle, set of symptoms, and goals. My role is to help you better understand the bigger picture, provide education and guidance, and create practical strategies that feel realistic and sustainable for you.

Sometimes that means looking more closely at nutrition. Sometimes it means addressing stress, sleep, digestion, movement, or daily habits. And sometimes it means using additional information, such as functional lab testing, to help guide the conversation.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s to give you greater clarity about your health and a plan that feels manageable enough to actually become part of your life.

My Mission

My mission is to create a space where people feel heard, supported, and involved in their own health. I want you to leave our work together with a better understanding of your body, more confidence in the choices you’re making, and a clearer sense of what to focus on next.

Taking care of your health shouldn’t feel like an endless cycle of guessing what to try next. It should feel thoughtful, personalized, and connected to the life you actually want to live.
